It was a snap election only called because John Horgan wanted a majority government. He said "Not for myself”, this election you understand, “but for the people of B.C." was a blatantly false statement. He put voters at risk unnecessarily, even with mail in voting. There was no time for any of the leaders and their candidates to really reach out and campaign truly. He knew he would win as he made everyone else scramble and not get a strong footing. Purely selfish. Waiting one more year would have made a difference and he knew that. Sorry, this is a strong response but the whole thing was unnecessary.

John Horgan seeking power for a majority while double crossing the Green Party for his own ego.
0.07%
The main issue was that the NDP had a minority government and had to rely on the Green party to get its' agenda done, this effectively gave the Green party an overwhelming amount of power as the NDP had to compromise things to get the Greens to agree. This led to a weak government that wasn't able to fully put through the remit that it had campaigned for.

I dont believe the people who govern our country are qualified enough. The ones who get to be elected should have been highly educated for the positions and given the job as any other job. Not voted in by popularity. And having said that the general voter out there has no clue how the system even works let alone being able to make a decision on who can properly govern us..

I understand why he did it and it worked for him, but I lost trust in him and his practice. I had previously been laudatory towards him for the way things had been managed during the pandemic and for letting Bonnie & Adrian take the lead in communicating public actions.

This election appeared to lack focus on any single issue. While the BC Liberals attempted to focus solely on economic recovery, they became scattered in their announcements seemingly getting desperate. The Greens focus seemed to be on the timing of the election for too long and didn't focus on their core messages of climate change and supporting families. The NDP's approach was also scattered hopping from child care to educate to health care - whatever they felt would resonate on any particular day.

That a a man named John Horgan decided to pull an election in the middle of a pandemic which as far as I’m concerned is one of the most thoughtless things he could have done. He put 100s of people at risk ,and for what an election that could have waited! We had more serious issues on our hands. I think what he did was uncalled for and brought a threat against everyone who had to vote. Why people would vote him in after showing no concern whatsoever abqoqut BC people I don’t know.
