Is my data private when I upload it?

Yes. Everything starts private, visible only to you and your organization's roles, until you share it or make it public.

Does my data have to be public?

No. Open is an option, not a requirement. The same archive holds private, licensed, embargoed and open data, each on its own terms.

What access levels are there?

Catalog (sees the listing), viewer, cross-tab (can run cross-tabs), download, organizer and owner. You can grant them on a whole project, a file or a single question.

Can access expire automatically?

Yes. Give any grant a start and an end, in any time zone. Access opens and closes on its own, with no one having to remember.

Can I see who viewed or downloaded my data?

Yes. The audit trail lists changes with the before and after, who viewed, and who downloaded, filterable by action, person, group and date.

Can I keep public data out of search engines and AI tools?

Yes. Public projects have separate switches for VoxDash search, search engines and AI providers, so you decide how far your public data travels.

What happens when I delete a project?

Data that was never widely shared is deleted completely. Widely used data is anonymised and kept private, and a public tombstone stays so that citations do not break.
