How do people ask for access?

When someone finds a private data project, they ask for access from its page. The request lands in your inbox with a thread to talk it through, and you grant a level or decline.

Can I be sure who is asking?

Requests come from verified email addresses. You can also require a validated email and answers to your usage questions, such as a name, phone number or address, before access is granted.

Can granted access expire?

Yes. Add an end date when you grant access and it closes on its own, with no one having to remember.

What does the contract contain?

Three layers: the VoxDash terms, the data project’s own terms and your organization’s terms. People accept them together and can download a PDF copy.

Can I use my own contract?

Yes. Add your own contract to each data project as a PDF, a link or text. It is versioned, and both you and the people viewing the data can read it on the data project page.

What is recorded when someone accepts?

The exact versions accepted, the time and the IP address. When a version changes, people are asked to accept again — and you can see who accepted and who downloaded each contract.
